CVM invites public to weekend Open House

CVM invites public to learn, have fun

The MSU College of Veterinary Medicine will open its doors from 8:30 a.m.-3 p.m. [April 13 and 14] for its annual Open House at the Wise Center, located on the south side of campus off Spring Street.

The Friday program is for pre-registered school groups, and the Saturday program is open to anyone in the community. There is no cost to attend.

Some Open House highlights include a petting zoo, animal shows, an up-close look at a cow’s digestive system, a lesson on microchip scanning, a view of the animal hospital and classrooms, and veterinary displays. There will be cow-milking and horse-shoeing demonstrations, a dog parade, an exotic animal show and much more. Children can bring in their “injured” stuffed animals for repair as part of the Teddy Bear Surgery program.

Older students will have the opportunity to talk to CVM students and faculty about veterinary careers and ask questions about the admissions process, course work and the field of veterinary medicine.
