A second arrest has been made in the weekend shooting death of a Mississippi State University student.
Duntae Harvey, 21, of Jackson was arrested Monday by the U.S. Marshal's Fugitive Task Force and charged with capital murder on a warrant issued by MSU Police. He is being transferred Tuesday from the Rankin County Correctional Facility, where he has been held.
Mason Perry Jones, 21, of Jackson, was arrested Monday on capital murder charges in the death. A third suspect in the death of John Sanderson, 21, is being sought, said MSU Police Chief Georgia Lindley.
"This second arrest is a credit to the hard work of our officers and the cooperation we have had throughout the investigation from assisting law enforcement agencies," she said. "We are grateful for the support of the U.S. Marshal's Fugitive Task Force, Mississippi Highway Patrol, Starkville City Police, the Oktibbeha County Sheriff's Office, and Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms."
Sanderson was shot Saturday night in Evans Hall, a male residence hall on the MSU campus.
