MSU Police release name of third suspect sought in student death

STARKVILLE, Miss.--The Mississippi State University Police Department is seeking the public's help in locating a third suspect in the weekend murder of MSU student John Sanderson, 21, of Madison.

Two arrests have been made in the case, which has drawn national attention.

MSU Police are seeking Trent Deundra Crump, 21, of Flowood on a warrant for capital murder, MSU Police Chief Georgia Lindley said.

"Crump is traveling in a light blue 1996 Mercury Grand Marquis with Rankin County tags," Lindley said, adding that he is considered armed and dangerous. He may be accompanied by a black female.

Mason Perry Jones, 21, of Jackson, was arrested by the U.S. Marshal's Fugitive Task Force Sunday in DeSoto County on an unrelated charge and was charged Monday by MSU Police with capital murder.

Duntae Harvey, 21, also of Jackson, was arrested in Jackson by the U.S. Marshal's Fugitive Task Force late the same day and charged with capital murder on a warrant from MSU Police.

Sanderson was shot late Saturday night at Evans Hall, a male residence hall on the MSU campus.
