Volunteer Saturday for 'Make a Difference Day'

"Make A Difference Day" is a national day of helping others -- a celebration of neighbors helping neighbors. Millions of volunteers across the country are expected to participate.

On Saturday [Oct. 22], join the MSU Maroon Volunteer Center and Volunteer Starkville to help beautify the city by engaging in cleanup and recycling activities. Volunteers can check-in at Fire Station One (503 East Lampkin Street) at 10 a.m. for a light breakfast, then be shuttled to a beautification project at one of 12 community locations. These include such sites as Montgomery Gardens, Carrington Nursing Center, Henderson Ward Stewart School, and numerous city parks. Volunteers will return to Fire Station One at approximately 1:30 p.m. for a light lunch. To sign up as a volunteer, click here.
