The air is beginning to cool and the leaves are beginning to change, which means it's time for the 14th Annual Turkey Trot 5K, 8K & Canned Food Drive. Sponsored by MSU's Department of Recreational Sports, this year's Turkey Trot will be held Saturday [Oct. 29], at 8 a.m., beginning and ending on campus at the Joe Frank Sanderson Center.
Register at the Membership Services Office in the Sanderson Center through Friday [Oct. 28], at 6 p.m. Registration is $25, and those interested also can register the day of the race in the Sanderson Center lobby from 7-7:45 a.m.
Participants will receive a t-shirt on race day and will be eligible for door prizes. All runners are asked to bring three canned goods, which will be donated to local food banks in the Golden Triangle.
Prizes will be awarded to the first, second, and third place male and female runner, first place senior runner (55 and over), and first place junior runner (15 and under), along with door prizes. There also will be a prize for those who have participated in the race for the past three years.
Join us and help stock food banks throughout the Golden Triangle. For more information, visit the web site at www.recsports.msstate.edu or call 662-325-7244.
