STARKVILLE, Miss.--A leader of Mississippi State's Assessment and Testing Services is a new member of the 17-member governing board of the National College Testing Association.
Mary L. Vaughn is associate director of the Division of Student Affairs office that works to assure all departments maintain the highest levels of efficiency in promoting student learning and development opportunities.
The Starkville resident long has been active in the National College Testing Association, of which the university is a charter member.
Organized in 2000 through the merging of several regional associations, the NCTA is a non-profit organization of testing professionals. It currently involves 1,300 members at more than 600 higher education institutions and 40 corporations and certification agencies in the United States and Canada.
Vaughn holds two MSU degrees, including a 2000 bachelor's in management information systems and a master's the following year in instructional technology. She currently is completing an MSU doctorate in technology education.
