STARKVILLE, Miss.--Mississippi State's symphonic and concert bands, along with the university's wind ensemble, will give their free spring concerts this weekend and early next week.
At 2 p.m. Sunday [April 17] in the McComas Hall main theater, the Symphonic, Starkville/MSU Community and Campus bands will perform under the direction of Cliff Taylor and Craig Aarhus.
Also Sunday at 5 p.m. in the McComas theater, the MSU Wind Ensemble will be led by Elva Kaye Lance.
The concluding event of the series takes place at 4:30 p.m. Tuesday [April 19] on the Drill Field. The wind ensemble and symphonic band will be led by students completing their coursework in instrumental conducting.
Audience members for the outdoor program may wish to bring lawn chairs or other seating equipment.
Lance is director of MSU Bands; Taylor and Aarhus, associate and assistant directors, respectively.
