STARKVILLE, Miss.--Mississippi Public Broadcasting viewers will have an opportunity to relive the sights and sounds of the 2010 Charles Templeton Ragtime Jazz Festival next week when a special produced by the Mississippi State University Television Center airs March 24.

The television special will feature interviews and 2010 performances by Adam Swanson and Terry Waldo.

The 30-minute program will air on MPB at 7:30 p.m., one day prior to the start of the 2011 festival at MSU. Sponsored by MSU Libraries and the Charles H. Templeton Sr. Music Museum, the festival includes concerts, "living room" sessions and lectures centered around the museum's collection of more than 20,000 pieces of sheet music, 200 musical instruments and extensive memorabilia from the 1880s-1930s.

This year's festival will showcase four artists March 25-26, celebrating what is considered by many to be America's first uniquely original style of music.

Additional festival co-sponsors include the Starkville Area Arts Council, Rotary Club of Starkville, Greater Starkville Development Partnership, with grants from the Mississippi Arts Council and the National Endowment for the Arts. For more, visit http://library.msstate.edu/ragtime/festival/.
