Join Mississippi State University and the American Cancer society for the annual Relay For Life this Friday [April 1] beginning at 6 p.m. in the Junction.
Relay For Life is a unique fundraising event that allows participants from all walks of life - including patients, medical support staff, corporations, civic organizations, faith-based groups and community volunteers - to join together to fight cancer. Relay For Life reminds everyone that progress has been made in the fight against cancer and that anyone who participates is making a difference.
Relay For Life opens as cancer survivors (those who have been diagnosed with any kind of cancer) take the first lap. Highlighting the evening is the Luminaria Ceremony, held to honor cancer survivors and to remember those who have lost the battle against cancer.
Help join the fight and find a cure as walkers go around the clock (6 p.m.-6 a.m.) in the battle against cancer. There will be food, entertainment, giveaways, music, and so much fun all night and morning!
Also, join the "Smash Out Cancer" car-bashing at Relay For Life, benefiting the American Cancer Society. This event will be open to the public and will require a minimum $2 donation to particapate. This sponsored by the Montgomery Leadership Program, Alpha Phi Omega, and the MSU Student Association.
Cancer never sleeps, so for one night Relay For Life participants won't either. For more information on how to help or donate, please visit the website at www.relayforlife.org/msstate or 662-325-7547.
