'Big Event' on April 8 calling for student teams

On April 8, the MSU Student Association and Freshman Council gathers student leaders and volunteers to leave their mark on the local community. The two organizations will host "The Big Event," the third annual day dedicated to volunteerism and community service in Starkville.

The Big Event sends out teams of 10 MSU students to perform one hour of volunteer work or small manual labor such as picking up trash, painting, weeding, and planting flowers in Starkville. A $30 entry fee per team is required that includes the cost of supplies and a T-shirt for each participant. Teams must consist of 10 members; however, student organizations may register multiple teams.

The Big Event kick-off will begin at 8 a.m. on Friday, April 8, in the Colvard Student Union. A free hot breakfast will be provided for all participants.
