MSU to close Monday due to winter weather

Severe winter weather conditions in Central and North Mississippi have made driving conditions extremely dangerous. Snow accumulations, mixed with ice, are predicted.

Mississippi State's Monday classes, day and evening, are being cancelled both for the Starkville and Meridian campuses. All campus operations also are suspended until Tuesday.

Faculty, staff, and students are urged to use caution to ensure personal safety. Depending on weather conditions, the university expects to reopen Tuesday. Monitor the MSU website for updates. Monitor local news outlets for changing conditions and advisories.

Starkville campus residence halls remain open. Perry Cafeteria will remain open until 7 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 9. Mitchell Memorial Library closed at 2 p.m. Sanderson Center will close at 5 p.m. Sunday. Sanderson Center will reopen Monday at 10 a.m., pending weather conditions.

Campus dining hours Monday, Jan. 10, are: Perry Cafeteria open 9 a.m.-7 p.m. Other dining facilities will be closed, including those in Colvard Student Union. Students are urged to use caution as they move around campus.
