More than 50 undergraduate students from Mississippi State and other universities will showcase their summer research July 29 [Thursday] at a symposium sponsored by the university's Shackouls Honors College.
The 1-4 p.m. presentations, on the third floor of Griffis Hall, are open to the public.
Students participating in National Science Foundation summer programs such as Research Experiences for Undergraduates and Undergraduate Research and Mentoring will present the results of their summer explorations in areas ranging from animal biology to improving accuracy of MRI images. Shackouls Honors College Research Fellows and other undergraduate students who have engaged in faculty-guided summer research also will present their work.
"This symposium will allow students from a cross section of campus disciplines to come together and share their research," said Giselle Thibaudeau, associate director of the Shackouls Honors College.
Speakers during the event will include Dean of MSU's Graduate School Lou D'Abramo; Ray Vaughn, associate vice president of the Office of Research and Economic Development; and Jerry Gilbert, provost and executive vice president.
