STARKVILLE, Miss.-- More than 60 administrators from colleges, health centers and communities across the state will be on the Mississippi State campus Tuesday [July 27] for a university-sponsored seminar aimed at improving alcohol programs.
The seminar will aid these groups in implementing education and intervention efforts. Sessions scheduled from 9 a.m to 3 p.m. in Colvard Student Union's Fowlkes Auditorium include data collection, strategic planning, coalition building, and program evaluation.
Health Education and Wellness at the MSU Longest Student Health Center, in association with Bully Choices and Stay Dry! Mississippi Partners in Prevention, will host the event presented by the Higher Education Center for Alcohol Drug Abuse and Violence Prevention.
Along with MSU representatives, Delta State University, Jackson State University, Mississippi University for Women, University of Mississippi, and the University of Southern Mississippi will participate, as well as Holmes, Northeast, and East Mississippi community colleges. Others in attendance will be Region IV Mental Health Services, City of Vicksburg, Community Counseling Services in Columbus, and Golden Triangle Recovery Center.
Bully Choices and Stay Dry! Mississippi Partners in Prevention are alcohol awareness and education programs currently implemented at MSU.
