STARKVILLE, Miss.--Two Mississippi State departments are winners of nearly 20 major 2010 awards given by the College Public Relations Association of Mississippi.
More than half of the university's winning entries were first-place honors.
Six of the Office of Agricultural Communications' 14 awards were rated at the top. The Office of University Relations received three, all first place.
The departments compete annually in the senior division of the awards program with the state's public and private senior colleges and universities. The division includes both public and private four-year institutions of higher learning.
Since being formed in the 1970s, CPRAM has worked to advance the art of communication to provide the public with a better understanding and appreciation of member institutions. Community colleges and state governmental agencies are also active participants.
