STARKVILLE, Miss.--The systems administrator for the Mitchell Memorial Library at Mississippi State is president-elect of the Mississippi Library Association.
Stephen Cunetto recently was chosen as the organization's 2011 vice president and moves to the top position in early 2012. A Starkville native and 1986 Starkville High School graduate, he has been a member of the university's library staff since 1996.
Now in its 101st year, the MLA works to provide leadership for the development, promotion and improvement of library and information services and the profession. The association was organized in 1909 by Whitman Davis, the librarian of Mississippi A&M College, now MSU. (For more, visit www.misslib.org.)

In 1999, Cunetto was honored with the MLA's Peggy May Award for "outstanding achievements in library development and/or recruitment of personnel to the library field."
