An upcoming planned power outage will affect the entire campus. An initial outage, held 5-7 a.m. on March 19, was successful, as was a second May 5 scheduled outage.
A third outage is planned 3-5 a.m. Saturday, June 5. During this time, a second transformer will be returned to service in time to accommodate the critical summer power demands. This outage also will affect the MSU campus. Additionally, the City of Starkville will execute a power outage at the same time to perform upgrades and repairs to a primary substation.
A fourth outage is planned July 10, also 3-5 a.m. During this time, the City of Starkville Electric Department will perform some needed repairs and upgrades to its primary substation.
A 5th outage will occur August 7th, also 3-5 a.m., allowing the City of Starkville to complete repairs and upgrades to its primary substation.
Thank you for your continued patience and understanding as we continue to improve electric services that MSU and the Starkville Electric Department provide. If there are ways Campus Planning can help lessen the impact for your area, please call 662-325-5557.
