Volunteers, donations sought for fire victims

Once again, the university and community are mobilizing to help the victims of a Starkville apartment complex fire. Two buildings were destroyed and up to 70 residents, most students, were displaced in a Sunday, April 18, blaze at Campus Trails, approximately a mile east of campus.

No one was injured.

Monetary contributions may be made online to the Student Relief Fund in the MSU Foundation [http://www.msufoundation.com/impact/relief_fund/].

In addition, the Red Cross is seeking volunteers to assist with a drive to aid the victims of recent fires in Starkville. Individuals or groups that would like to participate should contact Dede Edwards at (662)-769-0549 or by e-mail at ddeandjwc@yahoo.com, or the Red Cross office at (662)-323-4621.
