In a morning update, the Department of Defense has asked Americans to join them in a moment of silence at 1:34 p.m. today to honor those who lost their lives at Ft. Hood, Texas, yesterday. MSU President Mark Keenum is asking the MSU community join in.
"As our university prepares for Veterans Awareness activities next week, we are deeply saddened by yesterday's events," he said. "We join with all Americans in grieving the tragic losses for families, friends, and colleagues."
President Barack Obama has ordered that all flags be flown at half staff through Veterans Day, Nov. 11.
