Fans urged to secure tailgating areas

The increased popularity of tailgating during home football games has created a renewed interest in the game-day experience, and has brought with it an increased need for securing personal items.

For those tailgating Saturday, officials urge that items of value never be left unattended. Picnicking areas are patrolled by the University Police department officers and other security personnel, but MSU cannot ensure that individual tailgate items remain secure over the duration of their setup.

Fans can assist by not leaving tents, tables, food, televisions, and other items of value without proper supervision. It is also recommended that items of value have the owner's name and contact info affixed to them to aid in recovery should a theft occur.

Help keep Mississippi State's game day one of the best in the conference.
