The Office of Regulatory Compliance, in conjunction with the Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, is offering a course called "Safety in the Life Sciences Laboratory" for fall semester 2009.
This course is designed to familiarize undergraduate and graduate students working in life sciences and/or biomedical research laboratories with basic laboratory safety. It is being offered as a one-credit special topics course through the Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology.
The hands-on class will cover general lab safety, biosafety, hazardous waste handling, fire safety, radiological material safety, and emergency response.
The course is scheduled for Mondays, 2-2:50 p.m. Openings are still available.
