STARKVILLE, Miss.--A new five-minute video commissioned by Mississippi State President Mark Keenum is highlighting the arts, museums, outdoor recreation, athletic events, and other quality-of-life aspects of the university and Starkville communities.

Produced by University Television Center in collaboration with the Office of University Relations, "Where's the Action?" uses both photographs and video to highlight local attractions. It may be viewed at www.msstate.edu/web/video/.

"We want potential students, faculty and staff to see that the university and community form a vital, energetic environment that has the benefits of small-town life combined with opportunities of much larger cities," Keenum said. "We think Starkville is a great place to study and to live, and we want to continue to build on the strength of our partnerships."

The fast-paced production also may be seen on MSU's Facebook page and via YouTube.

"This video is a great promotional tool to demonstrate the tie between the university and the community," said Jon Maynard, president and chief executive officer of the Greater Starkville Development Partnership.

"While the university creates a huge economic impact and is the key driver for success in our region, the community of Starkville provides the backdrop to recruit students and faculty to the school," he added. "We are symbiotic in developing our growth; one cannot go forward without the other."
