MSU STUDENT LEADERS--Senior Blake Jeter of Brandon (center) is the new Student Association president at Mississippi State. He and the four other top officers were elected in campus-wide spring elections. Other leaders for the 2009-10 academic year include (from left) junior Halston R. Hales of Clinton, attorney general; senior Philip A. "Drew" Cleek of Estill Springs, Tenn., vice president; junior Michelle E. Peach of Jackson, secretary; and junior Hunter S. Futch of Meridian, treasurer.

HOMETOWN EDITORS:

Jeter is a biomedical engineering major and the son of James and Peggy Jeter. He is an MSU Distinguished Scholar and member of the Shackouls Honors College.

Hales is a chemical engineering and foreign languages double-major and the son of George and Donna Hales. He is an MSU Distinguished Scholar and member of the Shackouls Honors College.

Cleek is a political science/economics double-major and the son of Philip and Teresa Cleek.

Peach is a banking and finance major and the daughter of Mark and Pam Peach. She is a member of the Shackouls Honors College.

Futch is a junior banking and finance major and the son of Gary and Sharon Futch.
