STARKVILLE, Miss--Police at Mississippi State, working with local law enforcement officials, are announcing three arrests resulting from a Monday night [April 20] assault and strong-arm robbery on the university's sorority row.

Two juveniles and a 20-year-old, all from Starkville, were arrested following an all-night investigation that is continuing, said MSU Police Chief Georgia Lindley.

"We're confident we have the correct suspects," she said, adding that the Oktibbeha County Sheriff's Office and Starkville Police Department assisted throughout the investigation.

The incident was reported by a female student at approximately 8:30 p.m., and the arrests were made later that night. The victim did not require medical treatment.

"We remind students to exercise caution when traveling alone, and to lock vehicle doors even when they drive on campus," Lindley said.
