Blackburn book signing is April 20

All MSU faculty, staff and students are invited to a book signing and reception for U.S. Rep. Marsha Blackburn, R-Tenn., April 20 in the John Grisham Room of Mitchell Memorial Library, 3:30-5 p.m.

Blackburn's book, Life Equity, encourages women to recognize their natural abilities untapped potential and prompts them to assume positions of leadership at the local, national and international levels.

A Laurel native, Blackburn is a 1973 graduate of Mississippi State. She became a small business owner and volunteer and worked in politics at the grassroots level in her adopted hometown of Brentwood, Tenn., before seeking office. She was elected to the Tennessee Senate in 1998 and won a seat in the U.S. House of Representatives from Tennessee's 7th District in 2002.
