To conserve energy, MSU officials recently turned off the lighting from the front of campus vending machines.
The de-lamping is projected to save the university more than $10,000 a year in energy costs.
Stickers on each machine inform users of the conservation measure so they can be assured the machines are operating properly and beverages remain chilled.
Energy conservation is vitally important to the university, and more initiatives such as this will be implemented in the future.
