MSU announces leaders for 2009 orientation programs

STARKVILLE, Miss.--Twenty-two top students are leaders of the 2009 orientation programs at Mississippi State.

Working with the Office of Admissions and Scholarship, team members provide assistance and share their knowledge of the university with incoming freshmen and transfer students--and their parents--during various registration and information sessions.

Selection of orientation leaders involves a rigorous screening process; some 60 students applied for the positions this year.

The 2009-10 MSU Orientation Leader team includes (by hometown):

BOGUE CHITTO--Sophomore communication/public relations major Sally Beth Allred, a Brookhaven Academy graduate and the daughter of Keith and Dale Allred.

CANTON--Junior kinesiology major Thomas L. Sellers, a Canton Academy graduate and the son of Leon and Jill Sellers.

CLINTON--Junior Halston R. Hales, a chemical engineering and French double-major and the son of Randy Hales and Donna Hales. He is a Clinton High School graduate.

CORDOVA, Tenn.--Sophomore kinesiology major Virginia S. Wegener, a Briarcrest Christian School graduate and the daughter of Curtis and Pat Wegener.

EUPORA--Junior elementary education major Hayley P. Greenlee, a Eupora High School graduate and the daughter of Sanessa Greenlee.

FLOWOOD--Sophomore William A. "Drew" Fowler, a history and political science double-major and the son of William Fowler and Annette Fowler. He is a Brandon High School graduate.

JACKSON--Sophomore biological engineering major Price Davis, the son of Chris and Mary Shapley, and Russ Davis; and junior biological sciences major James P. "Jay" Hogg, the son of Jim and Brenda Hogg. Both are Jackson Preparatory School graduates [and all ZIP 39211].

JACKSON, Tenn.--Sophomore English major Elizabeth Fine, a Madison Academic Magnet High School graduate and the daughter of James and Anne Fine.

KOSCIUSKO--Junior management major Eric V. Dawkins Jr., a French Camp Academy graduate and the son of Eric V. Dawkins Sr. and Pauline Dawkins.

LONG BEACH--Senior marketing major Juliane R. Molesworth, a Long Beach High School graduate and the daughter of Ted Molesworth and Susan Molesworth. [Ed. note: Juliane is the correct spelling.]

LOUISVILLE--Sophomore biological engineering major Sarah E. Woodward, a Winston Academy graduate and the daughter of Larry and Margaret Woodward.

MADISON--Junior communication/public relations major Elizabeth T. "Libbo" Haskins, a Madison-Ridgeland Academy graduate and the daughter of Liz Haskins and the late Tommy Haskins.

McHENRY--Sophomore broadcast meteorology major Aaron M. Warden, a Stone High School graduate and the son of Billy and Donna Warren.

NOXAPATER--Senior Chasidy B. Smith, a Winston Academy graduate and the daughter of Jimmy Don and Renee Smith. She is a double-major in microbiology and secondary education.

OCEAN SPRINGS--Junior English education major Tiffany M. Jackson, an Ocean Springs High School graduate and the daughter of James R. and Connie Jackson.

PASCAGOULA--Senior business information systems major Jacob S. Jones, a Pascagoula High School graduate and the son of Steve Jones and Sonja Blackledge.

SALLIS--Sophomore accounting major Jamhal Kelly, a McAdams High School graduate and the son of Marilyn Wells.

STARKVILLE--Sophomore industrial engineering major Sierra N. Amos, the daughter of Sonya Tillman; junior accounting major Christopher B. "Chris" Herring, the son of Clyde and Tammye Herring; and senior biological engineering major Erin K. Newman, the daughter of Michael and Patricia Newman. Amos and Newman are Starkville High School graduates; Herring, Starkville Academy.

YAZOO CITY--Junior educational psychology major Patricia E. Bosch, a Manchester Academy graduate and the daughter of Miguel Figueroa and Enith Alicea.
