Junior Joy E. Powell is Mississippi State's Miss Maroon and White 2008. The Brookhaven communication/broadcasting major was selected from among more than 40 contestants in the annual campus beauty pageant.

Maroon and White Beauties are sophomore Anne Elise Parks of New Albany, first runner-up; senior Katherine A. "Katie" Morgan of Laurel, second; junior Natalie B. Bullard of Ripley, third; and senior Caylee P. Sullivan of Louisville, fourth.

Parks, who also was a homecoming maid this semester, is a broadcast meteorology major and the daughter of William and Beth Parks.

Morgan, a communication/public relations major, is the daughter of Michael Morgan and Nancy Caillouet.

Bullard, the daughter of Duane and Sherri Bullard, is a communication major in both broadcasting and theater.

Powell is a communication/broadcasting major and the daughter of Kenneth and Sherry Powell.

Sullivan, a biological sciences major, is the daughter of James Sullivan and Phyllis Sullivan.
