Mississippi State's Day One leadership program for new freshmen will hold its second showcase and celebration Thursday [Nov. 20] from 5:30-7:30 p.m. in the Colvard Union's Bill Foster Ballroom.
The public event also will include an awards and recognition ceremony.
Some 300 first-semester students will be providing information on the various service projects they have completed for nearly 50 community organizations. Their combined efforts amount to nearly 5,000 hours of work, according to program leaders.
Habitat for Humanity, Starkville Humane Society, Boy Scouts of America, Oktibbeha County Library, Starkville Community Theater, and local schools are some of the local entities that were helped by the university students.
