STARKVILLE, Miss.--A biofuels conference featuring presentations by academic researchers, government officials and energy industry professionals takes place next week at Mississippi State.
Highlighting state and regional efforts to increase biofuel availability, the Aug. 14 and 15 event is organized by the university's Bagley College of Engineering, Swalm School of Chemical Engineering, Industrial Outreach Service, and Sustainable Energy Research Center.
Sessions will be held in the Taylor Auditorium of McCool Hall. Feedstock availability and costs, and the sustainability challenges in converting feedstocks into biofuels, will be among the topics.
State and regional officials also will discuss specific projects and strategies for reducing regional petroleum dependencies and assisting in the establishment and operation of biofuel industries.
The conference is open to all. Registration, which includes a $100 fee, may be completed at www.biofuelconference.msstate.edu. A complete agenda also may be obtained at the Web site.
