STARKVILLE, Miss.--As part of its support for the annual Sexual Assault Awareness Month observance, Mississippi State is sponsoring a series of events during April.

On the 14th, a "Take Back the Night" rally begins at 8 p.m. from the Colvard Student Union. After gathering in the ballroom, participants will make a peaceful march against rape and other forms of violence against women and men that culminates at the MSU Amphitheater with a candlelight vigil and brief program.

Through the 15th, campus offices of Student Counseling Services and Sexual Assault Services are engaged in a denim jean drive. Members of the Zeta Phi Beta sorority chapter are assisting in collecting for the traditional Denim Day display on the Drill Field, to be held this year on the 17th. Collected clothing will be donated to the Safe Haven domestic violence shelter.

For additional information, contact director Beatrice A. Tatem or other Counseling Services staff members at 662-325-2091. Teachers interested in having their classes be part of the "Take Back the Night" rally may contact the Sexual Assault Services staff at the same number.
