Candidate McCain to appear at Riley Center

Meridian, MS--United States Senator and Republican Presidential Candidate John McCain will make a speech at the Mississippi State University Riley Center for Education and Performing Arts on Monday, March 31, at 8:30 am. The speech will be made in the MSU Riley Center's historic grand opera house theater and is open to the public. No ticket, invitation or RSVP is required. MSU Riley Center doors will open at 7:45 AM and seating will be first come first serve. Additional seating for "spill-over" crowd will be provided in the MSU Riley Center's exhibit hall where the program will be broadcast live on large screens. National media, as well as other national and state political dignitaries, are expected at the event. CBS Early Morning show has contacted the MSU Riley Center about possibly coordinating a live shoot from the theater. Confirmation of that shoot is still pending.

The MSU Riley Center is located at 2200 Fifth Street in downtown Meridian. Attendees are encouraged to park in the Arts District Parking Garage located at the corner of 24th Avenue and 8th Street. Directional event parking signs will be displayed throughout downtown. The parking garage opens at 7 AM, and event parking will be $2.00.
