MSU wants student feedback

In a recent e-mail from MSU President Robert H. "Doc" Foglesong, all freshmen and seniors were asked to take part in a short Web-based survey that has the potential to make a difference in the quality of undergraduate education at Mississippi State and other schools across America.

Mississippi State is one of 770 universities nationwide participating in the National Survey of Student Engagement (NSSE) for the Spring 2008 semester. While it's easy to ignore surveys, the NSSE is short and takes about 15 minutes to complete. Students will be asked questions pertaining to student learning and institutional effectiveness.

MSU is also interested in learning about student life as well, such as how and where students spend their time, what is the nature and quality of their interaction with faculty members and peers, and what have they gained from their classes and college experience.

If you have any questions regarding the survey, contact the MSU Office of Institutional Research by e-mail or call 325-3920. For more information regarding your rights as a research subject, contact the MSU Regulatory Compliance Office at 325-5220.
