Award-winning author and conservative political activist Andy Taggart will lead a public discussion tonight [Jan. 30] on the upcoming state congressional and national presidential elections.
Sponsored by the Mississippi State University Student Association and open to all, the program begins at 6 p.m. in the Colvard Student Union, Room 329.
Taggart is a Madison attorney who recently completed a term on the Madison County Board of Supervisors. Active in Mississippi politics for a number of years, he has served as executive director of the Mississippi Republican Party and chief of staff in the administration of Gov. Kirk Fordice. He also is the former president and chief executive officer of the Mississippi Technology Alliance.
Taggart co-authored the award-winning book "Mississippi Politics: The Struggle for Power, 1976-2006" with Democratic Party activist Jere Nash. Best-selling author and MSU alumnus John Grisham wrote the foreword.
