STARKVILLE, Miss.--A Clay County alumni couple's endowment is funding a team room in Mississippi State's newly expanded College of Business and Industry complex.
The $25,000 pledge to the university by Jeremy and Amy Tabor is making possible the Tabor Construction & Development Team Room in the college's Leo W. Seal Family Business Complex.
Dedicated during October Homecoming ceremonies, the major renovation and expansion of McCool Hall were funded by private contributions. Among other enhancements, the building's 52,000-square-foot expansion has improved the learning environment by providing a series of rooms for use by small groups of students working on class projects and assignments.
"In addition to business majors, many other MSU students and prospective students have the opportunity to use these team rooms," said college Dean Lynne Richardson.
"We are extremely grateful to families like the Tabors who understand the mission of the business college and are willing to equip our students with the necessary tools and environment to succeed," she added.
Both Jeremy Tabor and his wife, the former Amy Powell, are MSU business administration graduates. He is a Louisville native who graduated in 1991; she, a West Point native graduating in 1993.
Tabor Construction & Development Inc. is a family-owned business established in 1989 by Jeremy's father, Larry S. Tabor. The firm specializes in multi-family condominium and residential construction, including its latest Starkville venture, Annabella.
"We have developed areas throughout northern and eastern Mississippi including Starkville, Tupelo and Oxford," said Jeremy Tabor, company president. "A team approach to business is essential and it gives us great pleasure to support Mississippi State and its students in this manner."
