STARKVILLE, Miss.--A top Kosciusko senior at Mississippi State is concluding the fall semester as an intern in the office of U.S. Sen. Thad Cochran.
Taylor L. Casey is an agricultural, food and resource economics major who is scheduled to receive his bachelor's degree from the university next month. He is a 2003 Kosciusko High School graduate and the son of Danny Casey of Kosciusko and Rhonda Mink of McCool.
"Sen. Cochran's Washington office has benefited from Taylor's assistance as an agricultural intern," said Jenny Manley, the senator's chief of staff. "He has represented Mississippi State and Kosciusko well in helping our office respond to the needs of Mississippians whose livelihood is based on agriculture."
A President's List Scholar, Casey has received nearly a dozen scholarships since enrolling at the land-grant institution. Most recently, he was selected for a 2007 Student Achievement Award given by the Wall Street Journal in recognition of his scholastic accomplishments.
His honor society memberships include Gamma Sigma Delta, Phi Kappa Phi, Sigma Alpha Lambda, Gamma Beta Pi, National Society of Collegiate Scholars, Golden Key, and National Dean's List.
