SA plans Homecoming festivities

The MSU Student Association is planning a number of activities to celebrate the Bulldogs' Homecoming this weekend.

"Dawgs on the Drill" will take place Friday, Oct. 5, 11 a.m.-1 p.m. The Drill Field celebration will include inflatable games, ice cream and soft drinks.

The SA is planning to revive the tradition of "Ringing of the Bells." Everyone is encouraged to bring cowbells to the Drill Field to ring at 11:50 a.m. Friday.

A Homecoming Pep Rally also is set to take place Friday at 6 p.m. in The Junction. The 2007 MSU Homecoming Court will be introduced at this event.

The SA is sponsoring the 28th annual "Run with the Big Dawgs" on Saturday, Oct. 6, at 8 a.m. Registration is $5 for students and $10 for non-students. Participants must register by Thursday, Oct. 4, to receive a free T-shirt. For more information about the race, visit www.msustudentassociation.com.

A Student Tailgate Competition also will take place Saturday, with teams of four competing for a prize. Registration for the competition is available in the Student Association Office in Herbert Hall. The prize will be admission to the club level of Davis Wade Stadium for a later football game.
