Thursday's 7 p.m. gubernatorial debate between Gov. Haley Barbour, Republican incumbent, and Democratic challenger John Eaves will be broadcast live by Mississippi Public Broadcasting.
The event in Lee Hall auditorium will be carried on both MPB television and radio, as well as streamed live at the network's Web site at www.mpbonline.org.
The one-hour debate is sponsored MSU's student Stennis-Montgomery Association, with assistance from the John C. Stennis Institute of Government, Office of the President, and Mitchell Memorial Library's Congressional and Political Research Center.
Moderator will be Lori Ann Holland, student president of the Stennis-Montgomery Association, with questions from veteran journalists Charlie Mitchell, executive editor of the Vicksburg Post, and Aundrea Self, anchor and reporter for WCBI-TV in Columbus.
Persons attending the event may park near MSU's Humphrey Coliseum on the northern side of campus. Shuttles will run continuously, beginning at 5:30 p.m. from the shuttle shelter on Coliseum Drive. Shuttle marquees will indicate "Lee Hall Debate."
