Day One action team Cyber Dawgs--a freshman leadership program--along with the MSU Student Association and Holmes Cultural Diversity Center are sponsoring International Fest: Cultural Competition Nov. 1 at Lee Hall auditorium. Admission is free.
The competition is scheduled 6-7:30 p.m. and allows participants to showcase their talent, as well as share and exchange artistic traditions and cultural heritage with the Starkville community.
Performance categories may include dances, songs, costumes, and instruments. Booths will be available for cultural displays. Performances are limited to 13 slots at six minutes each. Student organization may have a maximum of three performances, while any other student group or individuals can register for no more than one appearance.
The top three performances will receive cash awards of $300, $200 and $100. Also, the best student organization will get $300; best stall/booth will receive $100.
Special guests will be Starkville Mayor Dan Camp and Dr. Lisa Harris, associate vice president of student affairs.
