STARKVILLE, Miss.--The Starkville airport will be abuzz--literally--this weekend when groups of flying model-airplane enthusiasts at Mississippi State sponsor a full-scale air show.

Organized for the fifth year by the university's Sky Dawgs Remote Control and Rocketry Club, the free event takes place 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday (Oct. 27 and 28) at Bryan Field.

Jets, helicopters, rockets, and other craft will be among the demonstrations.

Sky Dawgs includes university faculty, staff and student members. Its previous air shows have drawn as many as 30 "pilots" and some 850 spectators.

Additional information about the group may be viewed at www.ae.msstate.edu/~skydawgs.
