STARKVILLE, Miss.--The National Association of Industry-Specific Training Directors' official Web site now is managed at Mississippi State University.
The association is the professional development organization for persons involved in industrial training programs. The group, which represents a cross-section of employment and training specialists in most of the 50 states, will hold its annual conference in early October in Biloxi.
The Web site announcement was made Thursday [Sept. 6] by Dexter Holloway and Lemond Irvin, both of whom lobbied the association's leadership to make the change. The site, www.naistd.com, previously was hosted by the state of Minnesota.
Holloway is workforce development director for the State Board for Community and Junior Colleges in Jackson; Irvin, workforce development coordinator for the MSU-based Research and Curriculum Unit for Workforce Development. Holloway also is Mississippi's representative to the NAISTD's board of directors, as well as president-elect.
"Hosting the Web site and the conference will allow Mississippi to showcase our state and our resources to the membership," Holloway said. "It shows the state's commitment to the association."
