Some 75 faculty and professional academic advisors from the state's senior and community colleges will gather Oct. 2 at Mississippi State's McCool Hall for the 2007 Mississippi Advisors' Meeting.
The professional development program, scheduled 8:30 a.m.-3:30 p.m., is designed to help advisors enhance skills required to successfully guide students through their higher education. Walk-ins may register at 8 a.m. in the McCool Hall reception area. Registration information is available at www.mam.msstate.edu.
Melissa Moore of the College of Business and Industry is the keynote speaker. Her topic is "Relationship Marketing 101: Unlimited Enrollment."
The meeting is being coordinated by MSU professional advisors Rachel Singleton of the College of Forest Resources, Elaine Reed of the College of Arts and Sciences and Lanna Miller of the Adkerson School of Accountancy. Singleton is state representative to the National Academic Advising Association, whose Southeast Region IV chapter will hold its annual conference in Mississippi in 2009.
