STARKVILLE, Miss.--Mississippi State's fall classes begin Monday, Aug. 20.
For residents of campus housing, "move-in day" is Saturday, Aug. 11. For specific times, visit www.housing.msstate.edu/mvnu2msu/.
Aug. 16 and 17 are the final days to complete regular registration and pay tuition and fees. The 17th also is new-student orientation day for all who didn't attend the June sessions.
Late registration and semester course additions continue through Aug. 27.
Other major dates for the school year's first semester include:
--Sept. 3, Labor Day holiday. (University offices closed.)
--Sept. 21, first Step into the Maroon Day for prospective students. (Formerly Discovery Days.)
--Oct. 1 and 2, fall break. (No classes, but campus administrative offices open.)
--Oct. 5, second Step into the Maroon Day for prospective students.
--Oct. 6, Homecoming for MSU alumni and friends, held in conjunction with the campus football game versus the University of Alabama at Birmingham.
--Oct. 12, Scholars Recognition Day for regional scholars and their parents.
--Nov. 9, Minority Student Achievement Program for regional scholars and their parents.
--Nov. 21-23, Thanksgiving holidays. (No classes for students on the 21st, but administrative offices open. Campus offices closed on the 22nd and 23rd.)
--Dec. 3, fall semester classes conclude.
--Dec. 5-11, final examinations.
--Dec. 14 and 15, Friday evening and Saturday morning commencement programs in Humphrey Coliseum.
--Dec. 21-Jan. 2, winter holidays. (Campus offices closed.)
