STARKVILLE, Miss.--The final 2006-07 season performance of the Starkville-Mississippi State University Symphony Chorus takes place May 4 at the city's First Presbyterian Church.

Titled "Thou Who Wast God," the free concert begins at 7:30 p.m. in the sanctuary.

Ted Beverly will direct the program of works by Josephine Poelinitz, Harriet Ziegenhals, Katherine Davis, and K. Lee Scott. Accompanist Wendy Payton will be featured on the organ.

"Requiem," a 2006 non-liturgical composition by Scott, is scheduled in the second part of the program. Soprano Tara Warfield and baritone Bruce Lesley are soloists for the seven-piece selection written in English, but reflecting influences of the Latin form.

The concert originally was scheduled to take place at the Starkville First United Methodist Church.
