STARKVILLE, Miss.--Some major works of classical piano literature will be featured in a public concert Thursday [April 12] at Mississippi State University.
Assistant professor Rosangela Sebba will perform works by J.S. Bach, Ludwig van Beethoven and Frederic Chopin, as well as 20th century composer M. Camargo Guarnieri during the 7:30 p.m. event in Bettersworth Auditorium of Giles Hall.
General admission tickets are $5; MSU students are admitted free of charge with valid student identification.
A Brazilian native and specialist in Brazilian music, she is a frequent soloist and accompanist and has earned top prizes in a number of national competitions. Her performance is part of the MSU Lyceum Faculty Chamber Series.
Her selections will include Bach's "Prelude and Fugue in G Minor, Book I, BWV 861" and "Prelude and Fugue in B-flat Major, Book I, BWV 866"; Beethoven's "Sonata for Piano in D major, Op. 28 'Pastoral'"; Guarnieri's "Sonata para Piano"; and Chopin's "Scherzo in B-flat Minor, Op. 31."
