STARKVILLE, Miss.--Mississippi State's graduating classes of 1942, 1947, 1952, 1957, 1962, and 1967 will be recognized March 30 and 31 during the university's 2007 Super Bulldog Weekend.
"Alumni of Mississippi State comprise our 'forever' family and we work very hard to maintain our connections with them through activities such as the class reunions," said Jimmy Abraham, interim vice president for development and alumni. "We believe they enjoy returning to campus as much as we enjoy having them back."
Abraham, also executive director of the MSU Alumni Association, said thousands of invitations have been sent to individual members of this year's honor groups.
"If, for some reason, you did not receive the information, I am extending a personal invitation on behalf of your university and your former classmates to join us March 30 and 31," he added.
Reunion activities begin Friday [the 30th] with a 10 a.m.-3 p.m. open house and registration in the Hunter Henry Center lobby. Campus tours will begin from the center at 1:30 p.m.
The evening events will begin with a 4:30 p.m. reception--also at the center--with commemorative class photos to be taken at 4:45 p.m. in the lobby.
Friday events conclude with a dinner and recognition program to begin at 5:30 p.m., followed by the opening game of a Southeastern Conference baseball series. MSU is hosting the University of Kentucky for three games at Dudy Noble Field, Polk-Dement Stadium.
Saturday [the 31st] programs begin with a series of individual college breakfasts, most lasting about two hours.
The MSU Foundation's Office of Planned Giving also is sponsoring a free seminar for participants. Titled "Economic Outlook and Planning a Successful Retirement," the presentation begins at 10:30 a.m. in the Henry Center's Brunson Seminar Room.
The 2007 reunion program concludes with an 11:15 a.m. Henry Center luncheon.
Weekend activities wind to a close Sunday [April 1] with the final game of the MSU-UK series to begin at 1:30 p.m. at the stadium.
