The Mississippi Academy of Sciences will hold its 71st annual meeting Thursday and Friday [Feb. 22 and 23] at Mississippi State.
In addition to the Dodgen Lecture and Awards Ceremony, topics discussed during the gathering will include "Obesity and the Reshaping of America," said Juan Silva, MAS president and a professor of food science nutrition and health promotion at the university.
Interested members of the media are invited to attend any or all sessions being held at the Hunter Henry Center and the Bost Extension Center auditorium.
The Mississippi Academy of Sciences is a professional organization representing scientists, engineers, technicians, science educators, and others from schools and universities, government, industry, and business. The group works to support science in Mississippi and support communication among the various academic disciplines.
