STARKVILLE, Miss.--The Mississippi State University Alumni Association's 2007 awards banquet and leadership conference will be held on campus Jan. 26 and 27.

On the 26th, the nighttime awards ceremony at the Bost Extension Center auditorium will announce this year's national alumnus of the year, college alumni of the year, outstanding young alumnus, and honor chapters.

The daylong leadership program on the 27th at the Hunter Henry Center is expected to draw more than 200 chapter officers and volunteers from around the country.

"We will be welcoming newly formed alumni chapters representing East Texas and Charlotte, N.C.," said Jimmy Abraham, interim MSU vice president for development and alumni and the association's executive director.

"With these two," he added, "we now will have nearly 90 chapters around the United States."

In addition to hearing from President Robert H. "Doc" Foglesong and Athletic Director Larry Templeton, participants will choose new officers for the coming year, among other activities.

For additional information, telephone Abraham at 662-325-7000.
