STARKVILLE, Miss.--Michele Anderson is the new assistant director of development for Mississippi State's James Worth Bagley College of Engineering.
Anderson will assist college development director Ryan Little with fund-raising and alumni relations activities for the large academic unit.
"Michele will provide alumni and philanthropy leadership in the Bagley College as well as provide fund-raising support for the university's ongoing 'State of the Future' capital campaign," said John P. Rush, major gifts director for the MSU Foundation.
Since mid-2005, Anderson has been an administrator with MSU's sponsored programs office. Prior to that, she worked as sales manager and event planner with Doctrix Inc. in Manchester, N.H. She also has been a sales manager and benefits consultant with American Corporate Communications in her native Nashville, Tenn.
Anderson is a University of Alabama social sciences graduate. She recently completed a master's degree in business administration from Southern New Hampshire University.
One of the two oldest academic programs at the land-grant university, the Bagley College enrolls more than 2,300 undergraduate and graduate majors. The academic unit currently ranks 24th among public and private engineering colleges in engineering research and development expenditures, according to the National Science Foundation.
