Four Mississippi State alumni are being honored for outstanding continuing service to the university. Receiving 2007 Distinguished Service Awards of the MSU Alumni Association are (l-r) Miles P. "Pat" Nelson of Southaven, Charles A. "Chuck" Jordan Jr. of Greenville, Jim Yonge of Lucedale, and Charles W. Farrior of Madison, Ala. They were honored last weekend in campus ceremonies organized by the association.

Nelson, a 1973 industrial engineering graduate, is lead customer service manager for Entergy Corp. Nelson is a very active member of the DeSoto alumni association chapter and the Bulldog Club athletic support organization, as well as numerous community organizations. He also holds a master's in business administration from Tulane University.
Jordan, a 1968 business administration graduate and former MSU Student Association president, is president of Planters Bank and Trust Co. In addition to serving as president of the Washington County alumni association chapter, he is active in supporting the MSU Foundation and College of Business and Industry. He also is a former president of the Greenville Chamber of Commerce.
Yonge, who completed bachelor's and master's degrees in 1964 and 1967, is a retired agricultural economist and 4-H youth development specialist with the MSU Extension Service. He currently heads an investment business in his hometown. His 2006 presidency of the George-Greene Counties alumni chapter is among many leadership roles he has held in recent years.
Farrior, a 1982 finance graduate, is the business management division chief for the targets management office of the U.S. Army's Redstone Arsenal. As president of the Huntsville alumni chapter last year and vice president the year before, he led in increasing student scholarship contributions. He also is a member of the Bulldog Club athletic support organization. Farrior holds a master's degree from Mississippi College.
