Organized by the alumni association for the 17th year, the MSU Alumni Fellows program brings graduates of distinction back to campus to share with students specific competencies, attitudes and efforts required for success. Fellows carry the title for life. The 2006 class includes:
Robert J. "R.J." Reed of Brandon, founder and owner of Reed Food Technology, 1979 food science and technology graduate, College of Agriculture and Life Sciences. Also completed a master's degree in the major in 1981.
Michael D. McDaniel of Austin, Texas, senior graphic designer with the firm of fd2s inc., 1999 graphic design graduate, College of Architecture, Art and Design.
Attorney Mary Catherine Di Nunzio of Copenhagen, Denmark, patent specialist for the international pharmaceutical firm of H. Lundbeck A/S, 1990 chemistry graduate, College of Arts and Sciences.
Paul B. Murphy Jr. of Houston, Texas, president and chief executive officer of the Amegy Bank of Texas, 1981 banking and finance graduate, College of Business and Industry.
Michael J. Gandy of Ridgeland, director of the state Office of Vocational Rehabilitation for the Blind, College of Education. He received a master's in 1981 and a doctorate in 1985, both in counselor education.
Curtis R. Hopkins of Jackson, conservation program director for Ducks Unlimited/Southern Region, 1971 forestry graduate, College of Forest Resources. Also master's degree in wildlife ecology in 1973.
Dr. Menno D. Jager of Meadville, Pa., owner of Greener Pastures Heifer Raising LLC and MBK Properties LLC., partner in Greener Pastures Great & Small Veterinary Services, 1994 graduate, College of Veterinary Medicine.
William M. "Bill" Cobb of Dallas, Texas, founder of the oil-field management firm of William M. Cobb & Associates, 1966 petroleum engineering graduate, master's degree in the major a year later, Bagley College of Engineering. Also former faculty member in the engineering college.
